Description

Our apartment is located in a centric location of the residential lovely area of Vedado. It has a living and dinning room, full equipped kitchen, one air-conditioning room with 2 double beds with capacity for 4 people and a bathroom with hot/cold water.The area is by the important avenue Paseo. In front of the accomodation there�s a nice and green park. Nearby there are restaurants, markets, theaters, nightclubs, hotels and even the Plaza de la Revoluci�n.

The space

Our apartment is right in front of the important Paseo Street. It has no stairs, only a few steps.
The water has good pressure and it gets hot enough. Linen and cleaning are included.
Breakfast is included in the price).
The surroundings are charmingly green, with a park all along Paseo street. Even though there�s no internet at home, (almost impossible to get in any Cuban private home) wifi can be found just two blocks away. To make use of it, you should buy a wifi card first (the original price is 2 CUC per one hour, but people use to hoard them to sell them for 3 CUC; ourselves haven�t been able to buy them for 2 CUC yet!) and then get connected on your mobile or laptop introducing the user name and password. It�s possible to buy supplies in close markets, don�t expect a wide variety of products, but the basics for example at La Premier or Galer�as de Paseo (this one has more options).

There are a number of nice private restaurants around such us De Cameron, Motivos y Razones, just to mention some.
As places to visit on foot, we suggest the historical Revolution Square with the Memorial Jos� Mart� inside, together with an interesting viewer of the city, as well as the big walls displaying the figures of Che and Camilo. Very close is the National Library and the emblematic National theater, where the National Symphonic Orchestra plays every Sunday.

Also you should visit Col�n Cemetery (10 blocks from the apartment) that is a huge place full of fine art to honour the beloved.
We could certainly say that this is a zone of theaters: the Mella theater, Trian�n theater, Huber de Blanck theater room, or Raquel Revuelta theater room, are part of the list. They�re all at walking distance.
Nightlife gets attractive around in places like F�brica de Arte Cubano (1.5 kms away, live music is played combined with several kind of arts), The Jazz Caf� (6 blocks away, live jazz is played and it�s also a restaurant and place to dance), Bar Esencia (6 blocks away, a nice place to dance or have some drinks), The Corner Caf� (7 blocks away, a trendy bar where live music is played), and so on.
Cabs can be stopped at any of the main avenues near the apartment: Paseo, L�nea or 23rd.
We have a close friend running very professionally a bike business that rents comfortable bikes and offer tours around Havana.
If you go down Paseo for 8 blocks, you get to a part of the Malecon that surrounds Havana city.
We must say that Vedado is an ideal area to get entertainment and rest without being chased by noise or possible grime of Old Havana. It�s possible to visit the historical foundational squares, monuments and buildings of Old Havana by taking a taxi for 10 minutes.
